Charlie and Jakes' Wedding at Smeething Hall Barn near Sudbury Suffolk

25th September 2022 - Ten past 8 in the evening and an email hits my inbox.

"Hey Allen - do you have 16th August 2023 free for our wedding?"

I do love these emails!

And yes I was free and that's the beginning of most of my wedding photography stories.

So the day arrives and I meet Charlie at the beautiful Airbnb she's using for her prep. together with her 6 bridesmaids plus her Mum and hairdressers, make-up artists and later her Dad.

I love starting a wedding day with the brides prep. - it's mostly chaos but in a nice way and gives everyone a chance to get used to me being around and of course a chance for some detail shots aof the wedding dress and jewlery but mostly candid photos of everyone getting ready. Then into the car which is my time to dash off to the venue.

In this case the gorgeous Smeething Hall Barn just a few miles from Sudbury in Essex. The day was perfect - warm and sunny but not crazy hot. The wedding ceremony was outside on the lawn - perfect!

This really was a perfect wedding day - guitarist, garden games, great food, lovely guests and a lovely couple.
